Number Comparison

Replication of the study by Buckley & Gillman (1974) investigating whether digits and dot patterns are compared numerically through the same cognitive process.

Participants are shown two stimuli side-by-side and press a button to indicate which is numerically larger. The key predictions are:

Stimulus types

Group Description
Digits Two Arabic digits (1–9)
Regular dots Bisymmetric dot patterns (like playing cards)
Irregular dots Unique fixed dot arrangement per number
Random dots Dot configuration changes on every trial

Note

This folder currently contains the reference paper and description. A main.go implementation has not yet been added.
